I grew up in Kentucky but now reside in central Florida. This is my personal blog and as you will notice has no consistent theme or subject matter. It is what it is…news to me. I hope that you find it useful, enjoy the stories, and comment and provide feedback.
For a living:
I work in integrated marketing communications for a global mission and humanitarian organization based in Orlando, Fla. I’m a creative, big picture thinker able to analyze marketing communications problems and develop solutions that bring solid, measurable results using traditional and emerging social media platforms. I’m an experienced change agent and understand the risks and repercussions associated with change.
I’m an experienced communicator with national media relations and crisis management experience. Since 2007, I have been working to bring new technology and news gathering techniques to the forefront of how our organization communicates its message to the public. These new methods include video and satellite technology and social media. My position enables me to work with a team that is responsible for all contact with various internal and external media. I am a graduate from Western Kentucky University’s School of Journalism and Broadcasting, although it’s not the school’s fault for my grammatical errors.
Things I like:
Nostalgia. Western Kentucky University, integrated marketing communications, social media, public relations, Apple, the iPhone, college basketball, college football, hurricanes, travel, fishing, hunting, whitewater rafting, camping, fountain pens and vintage typewriters.
